EW.com: ‘American Idol’ coverage On Thursday, May 29th, Jason Castro, the dreadlocked twenty year old with the bright blue eyes, from Rockwall Texas, went back home to a hero’s reception. It seemed like everyone in Texas turned out to cheer Jason on, with some fans coming from as far away as Chicago, and Albuquerque, N.M., according to the Dallas Morning News.
Ever since Jason sauntered into his first audition, ever-present guitar slung over his shoulder, and beaming ear to ear, he has made his way into the hearts of Idol viewers everywhere. Jason, who came in fourth in this past season’s competition, performed a short concert of three songs, and then took part in a parade, and a waterfront celebration.   One of the songs he performed was, of course, “Deep In The Heart Of Texas”.

Everyone remembers Kevin Covais, from Levittown, New York, the eleventh place finalist from Season 5. Why? Because he was just the cutest little thing ever! So much so that his fellow contestant during that season, Paris Bennett dubbed him “Chicken Little”. And though Kevin was voted off that season, he has been an extremely busy man.

Not just content with being a member of the metropolitan Youth Chorale, the National Honor Society, and a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association, he also co-starred alongside Drake Bell in the 2008 comedy, “College”, sang at the Disney World Holiday Concert in 2006, and just recently, he rapped on his friend and fellow Idol, Paris Bennett’s debut cd, “Princess P”.

EW.com: ‘American Idol’ coverage Well folks, it was the duel of the decade, when the two Davids, David Cook, and David Archuleta, met in a record-breaking American Idol Final. It was The Rocker versus The Choirboy, and boy, what a night it was! Ninety-seven million votes were cast, and when Ryan Seacrest announced the winner, the audience was told that not only was their new Idol, David Cook, but that he had won by an amazing twelve million votes! The crowd went crazy, watching the tears flow down David Cook’s face, as he was enveloped in hugs, by his mother, his brother, and the rest of the American Idol contestants.
